Remedy options
If you are affected by remedy, your annual benefit statement will include details of your options at retirement - comparing the benefits you can choose to take and the impact of contribution adjustments.
This section of the statement is known as the remediable service statement and may be combined with the annual benefit statement - known as an ABS RSS - or provided as a separate document.
- You don’t need to make a choice of benefits when you receive your statement. You will only need to make this choice when you retire. The date you make your choice, will impact any interest payable.

Reviewing your figures
Every year you will be sent an annual benefit statement letting you know how much pension you have built up, along with other valuable information.
If you are one of the members affected by age discrimination remedy, this document will be called an annual benefit statement remediable service statement.
When to expect your statement
A summer update
Your statement should be available by the end of August each year. The figures shown on the document will be based on the values at 31 March.
- Your fire and rescue authority, or the administrator that they appoint to help them, will issue your statement.
- You can normally find this online in your pension account, unless you have requested a paper version.
- You can find details of your administrator where you can access your online account on the find your administrator page.
If something doesn’t look right

If you think that information in your statement is not correct, you should contact your fire and rescue authority or the administrator appointed to look after your pension scheme and let them know.
